LOS ANGELES – (April 14, 2016) – BeBop Technology, a leading provider of innovative Cloud solutions for the media and entertainment industry, announced today the opening of a sales and support office in Vancouver, a sales alliance with BASE Media Cloud in London, and the deployment of a data center in Ireland.
This marks the company’s first international expansion, and will provide customers using the first and only fully Cloud-based editorial workflow platform with worldwide access on a local level.

To grow BeBop’s presence in North America, the company has tapped post-production and digital media expert Curtis Staples to oversee the establishment of BeBop Canada. Staples is a 30-year veteran of the television and feature sectors in Vancouver and Los Angeles. His vast experience includes executive and senior management roles in all facets of the industry; audio post, video post, visual effects, DI mastering, imaging software and Cloud integration.
Staples has managed business operations, sales, marketing and business development for companies like Pinewood Studios, Laser Pacific Canada, Gastown Post, Rainmaker Digital Pictures, Sonic Foundry and Digital Film Central. He is a respected change agent, developing and promoting novel workflows that have revolutionized post-production practices. Staples is a founding director of the Vancouver Post Alliance.
In London, BeBop Europe will be established through a sales alliance with BASE Media Cloud, a leader in cloud-based managed services for the media industry. BASE Media Cloud will add BeBop to its existing solutions, which currently include cloud storage and file distribution services for prestigious clients including ITV, Formula E, Little Dot Studios and Directors Cut Films.
BASE Media Cloud founder and managing director Ben Foakes has more than 15 years experience in post-production, working across a range of projects including BAFTA-winning F1 for ITV, BBC promos, Bond films, Channel 4 documentaries and Jessie J tours.

BeBop’s new, dedicated infrastructure in Ireland represents deployment of the company’s Amazon Web Services (AWS) region for Western Europe and is fully integrated into the global BeBop platform via single sign-on. This expansion will enable low latency, high performance virtual desktop editing for customers working in the U.K. and Western Europe by moving the BeBop technology stack closer to customers’ networks. The Irish operation also provides BeBop with the capability to offer services that are compliant with European Union data and privacy regulations.
